The third edition of KinoKino – International Film Festival for Children takes place 14 to 18 February at Europa Cinema in Zagreb. Aiming to create a special and entirely different movie-going event for its youngest audiences, KinoKino Festival is preparing a series of interesting films, workshops and events in several program sections. These will include around 30 international, mainly fiction films, including film classics. Next to a jury of professionals, the best in show decisions will also be made by a jury of children, consisting of five primary schoolers, and the audience award will be reached by the audience vote.
The competition will screen the latest film adaptation of Erich Kästner’s novel Lottie and Lise and the award-winning French film Le Coeur en Braille by Michel Boujenah.
The section Classics with Guests will show the iconic masterpiece Mon Oncle by the French comedian, actor and director Jacques Tati, selected for screening by the Sarajevo-based actor and this year’s KinoKino Festival professional jury member Moamer Kasumović.
For the third year round, the festival hosts First Time at the Cinema, a section of live action and animated films suitable for pre-schoolers. In addition to the film program, the festival also organises a series of workshops for children, such as My First Film Review, as well as a workshop for teachers under the title: Screen to Classroom: Short Film teacher Training Workshop. In association with the award-winning design studio Šesnić&Turković, a film poster design workshop will be organised and the participants will try their hand at designing a poster for this year’s edition of the festival.
KinoKino Festival was launched by the creative team of Zagreb Film Festival. All the news and information are available at kinokino.hr/2020.
